Alessandro de Medici (1510 - 1537), Duke of Penne and Duke of Florence. In 1537 his distant cousin Lorenzino de Medici assassinated him. Lorenzino entrapped Alessandro through the ruse of a promised arranged sexual encounter with Lorenzino's sister Laudomia, a beautiful widow. Giorgio Vasari was an Italian painter, architect, writer, and historian of the Renaissance. The portrait is held in the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy.
